Improbable Habitat

PHOTO EXHIBITION BY CARL-ANTONYN DUFAULT

April 24 to June 25, 2018

Arts
Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End

The Avenue du Mont-Royal presents an amazing first outdoor exhibition of the visual artist Carl-Antonyn Dufault.

About fifty large-format photographs that explore the contrasts created by the connection of typical dwellings of fourteen cities to those from Montréal. After Paris, the series Improbable Habitat has been enriched over the years by new paintings, including several Canadian and American cities, such as Québec, Ottawa, Toronto, Boston, New York, San Francisco, New Orleans.

"Variations in jigs, typologies, materials, ornamentation and relationship to the street are all the more revealing when put in relation. It is through these variations what a city expresses and the character of those who inhabit it."
