Echo 67 looks back at the environmental and cultural legacy of Expo 67. It was one of the first events to discuss environmental issues, and the Earth-shaped dome that surrounds the Biosphere is one of the few pavilions still standing. The dome was designed by Buckminster Fuller, a forefather of environmental sustainability. It has become an enduring symbol of the exposition.
Montréal's 375th anniversary, Canada’s 150th and Expo67’s 50th was the perfect moment to give this internationally-renowned architectural monument a new look worthy of its size. The Biosphere became, for the next 20 years, a new beacon of light in the Montreal sky thanks to the new lighting design that was created around its structure.
